Back in a Sec is a three-minute experimental thriller developed as a proof of concept for staging complex, AI-assisted cinematic sequences, particularly a high-speed car accident with controlled blocking, timing, and spatial continuity.
The film follows Ahoo, who speeds through a rain-soaked highway in a stolen car. A sudden brake light triggers a violent crash, rupturing reality and transporting her into a surreal void where she confronts her own mortality.
This project was created under extreme production constraints, during two consecutive periods of total internet shutdown in Iran: a 21-day blackout in January, followed by another ongoing disruption beginning in February. Within these limitations, the film was conceived, produced, and completed independently, then submitted to the Yerevan Short Film Festival, where it was officially selected.
Back in a Sec functions both as a narrative work and as a technical exploration of AI-driven filmmaking under restricted conditions, demonstrating the potential for creating complex cinematic scenes with minimal resources and limited connectivity.
